8 week progress
Minimize

I just wanted to show you the results you can achieve in just 8 weeks from cleaning up your nutrition and exercising regularly. This lovely lady is now 12 weeks out from her first show and we are in a great starting place to begin her actual 'prep' 16 weeks out. She was sensible in her approach to her first show by starting out so early, 24 weeks, to avoid crazy dieting that ultimately leaves you in a horrid aftermath.

For most of you out there I am sure you will agree that this is very realistic as a goal for year round, and the majority of you would be happy with this body 365 days a year, without having to sacrifice your life by living in the gym and following a hard core meal plan. These results up until this point were acheived through clean foods and moderate exercise. Obviously now moving into a 'comp prep' we are aiming for very specific goals so things do become alot more disciplined in order to reach the look required to step on stage.

The last 5 kilos, and taking your body fat percentage to what is considered low, does take ALOT of hard work and commitment, but just getting in shape and maintaining doesnt have to involve crazy, drastic measures and ridiculous dieting.

I do competition coaching, BUT don't forget I also love working with the regular ladies just wanting to get in 'shape'. Be honest with yourself and setting your goals. We all want to look super lean, but how many of us actually want to do the hard work, hours in the gym, tight nutrition and only one cheat a week? Many of us are aiming for a body type that is too much of a commitiment to what we would ever give. Aim for a healthy, realistic, fit, athletic physique and you will find out that it is much more desirable. Wait until you see her final results when whe hits that stage in 12 more weeks! AMAZING JOB so far :-)

Karrona
Minimize

My name is Karrona and I'm a 23 year old part-time Dentistry student and part-time Research Assistant. Growing up, I had never been athletic. I constantly had my nose in a book and accepted the idea that some people are born to sprint and swim, and I was born to apply myself headfirst in my studies.

When I first studied at university, I realised I was another face in a much larger crowd, consisting of people with skills and knowledge extending much further than I could see in myself- I felt like nothing else mattered as long as I got by because the best I could do wasn't that great anyway. The idea that passing was enough quickly became the attitude I acquired for lots of areas of my life, and I lost a lot of the ambition and spark I used to have in my younger days.

Lots of personal and professional little things combined to make me see that I only had one life, and if somebody was successful in some or all areas of their life, what was stopping me from achieving my maximum potential? People aren't born successful, they have to work hard, be positive and sometimes fall to make it! By no means is being in your early 20's 'old', but I was aware that each year passed by so quickly- there was no way I was going to get to retirement, regretting that I never seized opportunities, that I let my life get stale because it was easy.

It was around this time that I developed a passion for fitness, seeing the improvements in my attitude and body contributed greatly to my new lust for life. I knew that having the right help and support was going to be nothing but beneficial- I needed the support of my friends and family, and it was time to get a personal trainer! I first saw Nicky at Phat Camp 2010, with a killer bod and a presence that I just couldn't ignore (I was unfortunately too shy to have a chat)! I checked out her website, purchased a gruelling leg session from her online, and finally met her personally by attending her Holiday workouts later in the year- and this was the event that has changed my life completely- I have never looked back since then! Nicky is friendly, helpful, encouraging (beyond words), down to earth and has a great ear- all the things I ever wanted in a personal trainer, and not oddly enough, the qualities I search for in friends. I have only known her for just over 3 months, but it feels like 30 years! And I'm not even 30 yet! She is wise, relatable and non-judgemental, a great strong role model. She has really helped me to achieve my goals, and together, we're still developing new, exciting ones- and I believe I can reach all of them! I used to sit on my computer admiring IFBB bikini and figure pros, wishing that it was me. Now, I'm competing in my first ever comp and preparing for a fitness shoot! Apart from the spiritual and emotional side of things, training with Nicky is by no means a light walk in the park. If you are ready to make the necessary changes to your life and physique, Nicky will kick your soon-to-be-perky/ perkier butt!!

Tash made an AMAZING transformation in such a short time. She lost a total of 10kg and reduced her skins by 119.5mm. Her girth measurements were reduced by 32 cm! After meeting Tash late 2009, I provided her with a nutrition, exercise and supplement regime so she could train at home. She went off and made a great effort to reduce her weight from 95Kg to 85kg, by following the guidance I had given her. After being so motivated with the progress she had made so far, she came back to see me as she started reaching a plateau, and deciding she really wanted to kick it up a notch.
Committing to 3 sessions for a period of 8 weeks, Tash certainly had her obstacles. She has battled with chronic fatigue problems which have been reduced remarkably since changing her lifestyle habits. Tash and her partner are both shift workers with a young child, so making time and balancing her lifestyle were extremely important. She is now has learnt the strategies to successfully manage her daily routines to suit a ‘healthy’ lifestyle, and therefore reduced her stress level and increased her energy levels.  During the challenge Tash also got Pneumonia (mild), which she had already decided was not going to impact her commitment to improving her lifestyle or get in the way of her achieving her goals. So we ensured she maintained her eating and adjusted her training so her body was able to recover.
In Tash’s words...
“I want to thank Nicky for all the support and guidance she has offered me since meeting her late last year. During this time I have been able to greatly improve ALL areas of my life. I have learnt the importance of proper training, nutrition and supplementation in order to achieve maintainable results. Since finishing the challenge back in April, I am happy to report that 6 months later I am still at 75Kg’s! So from my first meeting with Nicky I have lost a total of 20Kg’s. Not only is she very knowledgeable in the area of health and wellness, but incredibly she is the nicest, most caring person you could meet. Her passion for helping and sharing with other women is awesome and she is now is not only my mentor and inspiration, but also one of my closest friends.”

My Name is Emily Fuata and this is my story! I joined the local gym in September 2006 one month after the birth of my daughter.
My goal was to lose weight and feel good about my appearance. I started at 120kgs, and began by attending the classes and lost 13kgs on my own. But soon I lost my motivation after I found myself on a plateau.

I not only needed motivation but to learn how to eat and train correctly. I could not do this on my own so I hired Nicky, an Instructor who taught my bike class that I loved so much.
Nicky gave me all the encouragement, information and guidance I needed to get me out of my rut. With weekly monitoring and constant support I very quickly noticed change.
I had a goal which was to weigh 75kg's before my trip overseas to America and China, which was scheduled for November 2007.

I managed to reach 69kgs before leaving for my trip and broke my personal weight goal.
I have managed to lose 48 kilo's in the last year and maintain this as well.
Without persistence, consistency and staying focused with the help of Nicky as my trainer I would not be where I am today.

I am now more agile and have a much higher self–esteem, to be able to live life and enjoy time out with friends and family.

It's not just a physical change but a Lifestyle change.

Emily lost 38 Kg’s over 16 weeks!

2009 Update – Emily has been focusing on building muscle to improve her muscle shape. She maintains 72-75kgs year round and is the centre of motivation for many in here community.

Lauren's Lifestyle Change
Minimize

3 years ago I met Lauren. She was your regular 9-5 girl who had never been active in her life. It is truly amazing what a person can do, and how much they can change their life. Lauren is the inspiration for all you ladies out there who think you are 'regular', and could never be 'that girl'. An amazing story of transformation when someone starts to BELIEVE in themself. x

Hey Nicky!

Just wanted to send you a massive thanks for all your support. Sometimes I find it hard to say how grateful I am in person, so I wanted to send you an email so I could get everything out that I want to say

I really appreciate your guidance and support over the past 8 weeks. Obviously I appreciate everything you've done for me since I first met you, but more so especially over this last 8 weeks! Thank you for believing in me and helping me believe in myself. You're a fantastic judge of character and saw something in me that I didn't quite see myself. But through listening to you and my body and training hard and eating clean, I can see it now too and I feel like I am in such a better place because of it!

I admit years ago that when I first came to your bootcamps it was exciting to start with, but then it got a little too hard. So I gave up. Which is what I have done my whole life. If it's too hard, I just give up and shy away! But nothing worth getting it easy, and you're such a great role model for that!
I'm super proud of myself that I set myself a challenge, finished it and achieved great results.

I just wish that I had of realised this years ago when I first met you and I could have taken full advantage of you living near me and I could have felt the way I feel now years ago. But there isn't any point in dwelling on "what if's". Like you said last time I trained with you, it's all about what I have learned and each time I challenge myself, I will probably do it better and get better results that the last time!

So on to the next chapter..............lean out even further and get some smokin' legs!

So my plan is to do another shoot with Dallas in a few months. Maybe September/October (depending on the budget) and I would be honoured if you could come along with me and style it and direct me to get even more amazing pictures and maybe even "the shot".

So massive massive thanks again and I can't wait to start the next part of my journey with you.

I CANNOT WIPE THE SMILE OFF MY FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had such an amazing last couple of days. I know you know how I feel and I know you know how appreciative I am, but I just wanted to tell you again. I honestly couldn’t have done what I have done without your guidance. You are an amazing trainer/coach/stylist/EVERYTHING!!!!!! I know that I was the one that got up every morning and did cardio, and I was the one not eating crap food and staying home on Friday and Saturday nights when “I couldn’t eat that”, but it was because you were there every step of the way to guide me, support me and make me believe I could do it.

There were so many times that I wanted to pull the pin and I’m so glad you convinced me to keep going. I’m just so happy that I started something and finished it. My results are far beyond anything I imagined I could have achieved. I’m not disappointed I didn’t place, it is what it is. Inspiring others and motivating others means more to me than some trophy, because I am to others, what you are to me and I’m very humbled to be that! It feels amazing.

I just feel like I have grown in so many ways since starting training with you. If only I had of done this years ago when you were local!!!!! It feels amazing to be in great shape and I want to make sure I maintain this sort of figure year round.

It meant a lot to be able to share today with you also. You’ve got so much experience with shoots and your direction is a massive help. I’m so glad you could tell I’d been practising  Here’s to hoping I get “the shot”. Whatever happens, I got some amazing photos and whatever happens I won’t ever change as a person – promise!!!!!!!

I am just so happy that you are proud of me, it means the world to me!!!!!!

Lots of love always xxxx

After suffering from a stomach bug for over two months (which started out as simple gastro) with numerous doctor visit’s, blood test, and scope which showed nothing, visiting a naturopath, I decided to try a different approach; whilst sick I was nauseous all the time and only ever felt like eating carbs!!! Excellent this is were I stacked on a few kilos, wouldn’t say I’m big but for myself who has been active all my life I felt crappy and sick, so time for a change.

I found Nicky through her website after searching for someone to help me with my nutrition to try and sort out my stomach issues I’d been having. I ended up starting out with a few PT sessions and Nutrition Plan which saw me drop four kilos in two weeks, which helped in taking the bloat I had for the past few months. With Nickys nutrition plans I have found myself with more energy, and slowly and steadily making a difference to my body shape.

Training with Nicky takes me to a whole new level of strength she pushes me so far I feel so sore but got to love that feeling when you finish, her leg sessions are the bomb! And when your trainer is the picture of what you aspire to look like who wouldn’t want to be trained by her. Pure motivation to keep on pushing through. The other side of it is the mentoring and support Nicky offers, the text messages and emails not to mention all the knowledge she shares whilst you’re training, this lady has so much information to share its amazing. Her passion for the health and fitness industry, and her love for helping others is beautiful. Onwards and upwards for 2011 I will continue to be fit, healthy and leaner. My next goals is to complete the half marathon in July beat my previous personal best time sub 1hour 55mins and then hoping to get on stage in October in a figure comp, with the guidance of Nicky! Thank you so much Nicky xx

"Nicky has been another great source of motivation and encouragement. She has inspired me tremendously this week. I have spoken to her online, and in person twice this week. I walk away inspired by her, and she always gives me a lot to think about. Whether it be nutrition advice or talking about comps, I walk away with a stronger belief in myself that I can do this! She has a lot of wonderful things to say on a whole range of topics, and conducts herself in a manner that would be envied by most. Also gracing the cover of Oxygen magazine (in 2008) she had a fantastic article that was so honest and down to earth, I could talk to Nicky all day!"

Hi Nicky,

Not sure if you remember me but I sometimes come in to the supplement shop with my boyfriend Dion.

You are always a fountain of knowledge and heaps of help and I have since been reading your website etc.

I have decided to compete in the Fitness Model category in the September competition this year and just wanted you to know that you are a huge inspiration to me...so much so that I have your picture at my PT's gym...hahaha! If I could look like you I would be soooo happy! The boys have their picture of Arnold and I have you there as my inspiration when I feel like I cant do another curl or attempt another pull up I think of my comp and look at your picture and I give it more effort.

Anyway I just thought I would write and let you know. I also just finished my Cert 3 and 4 and Boxing as well so I am learning the ropes and really enjoying it. Fitness used to be such a big thing for me and then I was sick and down and let it slide and it made me feel worse and now I am loving being back in it.

Hope you have a great day, just thought I would let you know that you are a huge inspiration to people!

Thankyou so much for your kind words and encouragement Nicky, I have to say, I am absolutely thrilled to receive a PM from you! I have followed you and your achievements for a couple of years now (congrats on the Arnolds by the way, you looked amazing as always) and can honestly say that you are a true inspiration to me. When I first came into the world of bodybuilding, it was some of your photos that I showed to my boyfriend when I was explaining 'what I want to achieve' :):) The very first issue of Oxygen I bought was one with you on the cover (I still have that issue too- I go through old issues all the time and its in the stack that I am currently 're- reading') , and you are a huge part of my 'inspiration board' that I created to help with my motivation (a board covered in photos and insprational quotes of beautiful women such as yourself), so it really is a HUGE deal for me to receive such a lovely message from you! And you have made me feel much better about my head too! haha, I'm stuck at home alone with a huge bandage on my head and not allowed to train until the stitches come out due to a burst blood vessel, so I was feeling a little sad, lonely and sorry for myself and you totally just made my day and put a smile back on my face!

Hope you are having a fantastic day Nicky, and thanks again xo
